Our History
Since our formation, ASD has reliably met our customers’ needs. The technologies and approaches may have changed over the years. But we still recruit and employ only the best of the best job candidates, and we still go the extra length proactively and reactively to ensure the success of each service engagement.
Today, we know our keys to success are our customer-driven focus, world-class employees, wealth of business and technical experience, forward-looking technology expertise, and best practice management approaches.

Our services are available on the federal MAS (SIN 132-51 and 132-56) and CIO-SP3 (SDVOSB 8(a) SB) contracts and on statewide contracts in Florida, Alabama, and several other states—and through SDVOSB Sole Source or through our partners’ contract vehicles.

Our Leadership Team
For the 40 years since its incorporation in 1979, Dr. DuBard has been and continues to be responsible for ASD’s strategic direction and operations as the company has grown into a successful national IT solutions and management consulting firm. ASD was selected by INC. Magazine for 9 years to the Inc. 500/5000 as one of the fastest growing private companies in the US. Prior to founding ASD, Dr. DuBard served in the US Air Force as a test and evaluation engineer and worked in Florida’s state government as a systems analyst, systems programmer and project manager. He received a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi and a Ph.D. in Communication from Florida State University (FSU). Dr. DuBard also serves as a faculty member at FSU and is the founder of its Project Management Center and the founder and manager of the FSU Graduate Certificate in Project Management Program, which prepares graduate students to sit for several Internationally recognized Project Management Institute exams such as the PMP, CAPM and PMI-ACP.
John Adams ensures that the corporate functions including recruiting, human resources, and administration fully support the delivery of IT services to our customers and he manages our state level business development. Mr. Adams has a Master’s degree in Public Administration and over 45 years of successfully managing programs and personnel. Mr. Adams joined ASD in 1994 following his retirement from the US Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. His military career included assignments in strategic intelligence, tactical command & control, counter-narcotics, and planning on the Air Staff in the Pentagon. His service spanned both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm.
Bill Thompson is responsible for ASD’s financial management. He is both a talented manager adept at transforming ASD’s internal financial processes and innovating financial processes for customers. He has both IT and non-IT experience with demonstrated previous success in the delivery of financial consulting services, forensic auditing, expert witness testimony and insurance industry senior management. Bill has over 25 years’ experience in financial service delivery and management. Mr. Thompson began his career as an auditor with KPMG and in his early years worked in many accounting, audit, and tax roles. In addition to his B.S. in Business Administration from Widener University, he holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
